Is saidit coming to an end too? The site ranking was in a steady and fairly steep decline until March 21, then it jumped massively in one day to levels from months previously, and there's been another jump since. It's not commenters behind those increases.

What are the best alternatives you know of?

Poal is run by petty assholes. Voat is almost too ugly to look at. Ruqqus appears to be kind of dead. Communities.win is overrun by normies, but lacks some of the awfulness of other sites.

If /u/Node or /u/Enza have coding and other skills we can build our own solutions. I have an old box ("Cassandra") to play on with Lubuntu and OpenSSH-Server to try and test and build things on, including my new wiki to document everything. Yes it's old, yes it's limited, but if I can do it anyone can - and we can federate. And of course we can get/rent bigger better things for the front end - and build more ways to keep some boxes anon. Larry wants to utilize TOR. I hope for IPFS and ZeroNet. We also aim to have PeerTube, Lenny, PhpBB or MyBB, and other stuff - with bridges if possible. After I draft up our road map (waiting on Larry for the wiki as he's lead on all things Cassandra) I'll ask Panzer about recommendations, suggestions, and things to research and even test out.

Have you asked u/fschmidt? He wants to make a SaidIt alternative, but can't find anyone to work with.

Yes, he was on Session with you/us.

He has good insights, but he also has limitations. Critically he won't support FLOSS. FLOSS decentralization are fundamental deal breakers for me, even though I don't code. We can work together, brainstorm, and develop stuff, but have diverging goals. My goals are bigger than me and my empty wallet. I'll be posting more about all this soon enough.
