This "news" site appears to be from Nigeria. Why are they spamming Saidit? Are they trying to increase web traffic to their site for ads?

I told u/magnora7 about it a few months ago, but he didn't think it was a problem, at the time. Maybe it is, now, though? Regardless, I blocked that account a long time ago, and you should too.

That explains why every-time I report those types of posts nothing happens lol. Just like each time I report the celebrity gossip posts, they just stay up and get vote manipulated to dilute the front page.

When you have admins telling you to just personally block spam accounts instead of admins taking action (and allowing the front page to be spammed to oblivion with synthetic karma interactions) you know the boat is really sinking.

But keep reporting guys it does.. something!

But is it sinking further and faster than other boats? I'm starting to think that most sites are viewing commenters as an annoyance that distracts from their main purpose.

Saidit does have a very clean look and user interface, and appears to be less sunken than other sites I use. Maybe the time of commenting on the internet is just coming to an end.

If you knew what was going on behind the scenes of SaidIt as a website run by a group of people who all appear to get along and work together, you’d know it’s only a matter of time. I just found out how bad things are from the source myself.

These things we are seeing on SaidIt at least, are symptoms of it. I had no idea things were the way they are, things were much different a year ago.

Is saidit coming to an end too? The site ranking was in a steady and fairly steep decline until March 21, then it jumped massively in one day to levels from months previously, and there's been another jump since. It's not commenters behind those increases.

What are the best alternatives you know of?

Poal is run by petty assholes. Voat is almost too ugly to look at. Ruqqus appears to be kind of dead. Communities.win is overrun by normies, but lacks some of the awfulness of other sites.
