    There's a huge difference between agreeing with someone, and reposting their comments and posts to evade a ban.

    Besides, Bob was banned for trans slurs, not the ironleft.

    Why do you assume that Muskrat fabricated the evidence, and didn't simply have it sent to him, and naively believe it was real?

    Some troll posted this last night long before he was banned. It seems more likely that it was the iron left dude trolling him in the first place.

    I've seen four fake screenshots. u/AmericanMuskrat posted the fake screenshot of u/magnora7, Magnora showed me a screenshot he got from a troll framing u/fschmidt, and I removed the two screenshots framing Musky as a pedophile and u/FediNetizen promoting violence, both posted by one of loki88's alts.

    Yesterday, Fried Beans banned u/bobbobbybob2, who posted the screenshot Musky sent hours before (SaidIt says it was a full day before, but they where both posted on April first — I hope this was just a really bad April fool's joke).

    So it's very possible Musky saw this post and copied the link, or the account that posted it just sent him the link and he thought it was real.

    I was sent a link to that Musky screenshot because Comatoast thought it was real, but wanted my opinion on it. I didn't see Musky post about it, but I agree anyone could have thought one of these fakes were real if they weren't familiar with inspect.

    The only reason I know about it is because I use the devpane a lot to debug websites. (Usually just to catch errors and constantly clear the cache.) It's understandable normies like Musky and Toast (now under some other username) would take them at face value.

    That link just sends me to a login page, but considering how Bob doesn't know about it — and has no reason to lie — I think it's safe to say it came from someone else.

    Musky was kind of a lefty, in my impression, but if you can talk to M7 about whether banning over posting a faked screenshot from the troll he might have thought real is the best decision. I don't think Musky was out to cause harm, although I haven't seen that specific post. It's like we're in one of those movies where the killer (the troll) uses trickery to take us out one by one.

    So it became obvious muskrat is working with the trolls, this evidence is undeniable. Also in the last 2 days he posted about how great it is to have sex with 17 year olds, talks endlessly about the ironleft, stirring site drama , creating and promoting subs that are constantly pushing the boundaries of the rules... if it quacks like a duck, it might just be a duck.

    It's very unfortunate some people feel the need to go to such lengths to destroy this website and its reputation.

    This isn't a failure on my part, this is me removing people who are working hard to deliberately destroy this website. Once the evidence is clear, I had to act.

    From a users perspective, it kind of looks like Musky got one of those fake screenshots like a bunch of us did, and thought it might be real. I've only encountered him in comment threads, but didn't get the impression he wanted to harm saidit. Seems more likely he got tricked by the troll into quacking like a duck.

    This kind of thing just gives the troll more ammunition. "See? Even more unfair acts by the admins!" It's a strategy that can be more successful than you might be thinking, from the admin position. In a different comment, I mentioned how the troll seems to be using a classic 'insurgency' strategy, where attacks against the authorities and infrastructure lead to an overreaction by the authorities, which leads to sympathy from the people. The trick is to not fall into the trap of perceived overreaction.

    What if the troll is behind getting you to ban users to create a reputation for saidit as a censoring and banning site? That has the potential to be far more harmful to saidit than a user stirring site drama. To be realistic, people on reddit put up with the censorship and banning there because of the numbers of users and posts. Saidit can't really afford to have a censorship and banning reputation, as we're pretty small.

    Something to consider when thinking about banning a boundary pusher. I'm used to sites with few rules or behavioral restrictions at all, which does lead to annoying levels of retardation, but too far the other way is not good either. I don't envy your position as the decider. (and target of this troll)

    Anyway, those are my thoughts on it. Saidit is over three years old now, so congratulations on a difficult feat.

      Many things are possible. I'd like to see all this meta-drama end so we can get back to commenting on stories and other people's opinions.

      I'm a little unhappy that the loki/LXXX/whatever troll seems to be having some success in degrading saidit, and concerned that our active pool of commenters seems to be shrinking.

      I had good interactions with Musky, although he seemed to be against Nazis, and will miss his replies.

        With all due respect - M7 (and /u/TheAmeliaMay) - this is a case of mistaken identity: the person who is fabricating evidence is not Muskrat but a troll trying to get Muskrat banned. Muskrat is an important, thoughtful contributor to Saidit, and isn't trying to harass anyone; especially not you. It's just not his nature. He's been an exceptional contributor. I hope you will have another look and reconsider the ban. The fake account people are actively trying to get your best users banned. And the screenshots are fake.

        Your theory might have some merit if loki88 gave Musky the screenshot. I'm not sure if that's the case, since it could've been the other way around, but it's certainly possible you're right.

        Oh, great... I was worried there for a second. It's actually really easy to fake a screenshot, which is why I don't like using them as evidence. Some troll can just use inspect element and change the text.

        If I may make a note about the last point, /s/Tits was just for fun. No one took it seriously, and it really wasn't about porn. This is at least how I saw it. We enjoyed posting all kinds of funny things.

        I think the screenshot you mention is fake, as are some of the posts that contributed to annoying you and M7. Seems to me that the fake account people tried to get Muskrat banned, and it worked.

        Btw, I saw bobby after he (she?) made an account on poal.co after rage quitting here. Same name as here if you want to see what he had to say about it all. Also copied some to TAM yesterday.

        You'll have to type it in the address bar to replace any name from over there, since ALL usernames over there are currently randomized as some retarded April fool 'prank'.

        I asked him about the 'bobby3' screenshot and he said he hadn't been back after killing his account.

        Don't take those faked screenshots too seriously. It's a new troll attack on saidit, and I hope it's not going to keep working so well.

          So why is banning the Muskrat account helping? If that is a troll account, even playing a straight account, they'll keep up with the "game" with other accounts, and if they've carried it this far, surely there are other regular user accounts here under their control. I am not well educated on IP's and such (so I don't know but I guess there is a way to fool readings on your end), but why would they jeopardize the AmericanMuskrat account in this way? Why would they slip up so easily by using the same image host (and I'm not sure how that's proof even if it seems suspicious)? Looking in, it seems to me that this is one of the troll set-ups. All this confusion on my end is maybe part of the game, though.

          On another note, I usually look at comment posting times and some of the regular accounts on here have strange and even staggered active hours. AmericanMuskrat fell into this pattern. I figured he had a night-time security job (or another situation keeping him up at night) and had lots of time to play on his phone. If you want to put some time into it, you may want to to look at some of the comment interactions that different accounts are having with each other in relation to the time of day/night. If they are posting within minutes of each other at times all over the clock, I think that is suspicious. Suspicion is not proof, though.

          The troll accounts are definitely using misdirection, pretending to be extremist or "not a native speaker" at times. Maybe there are multiple people taking turns using the same account. Again, I think they are using normie accounts, too. I have entertained the thought that an admin is in on this ruse.

          Yeah I think it was one of those high profile, technically following the rules but constantly on the edge of breaking all of them, types of accounts. Enough of them and the genuine culture gets diluted and destroyed. This is a different tactic of ruing the signal to noise ratio, rather than just openly breaking the rules, which they know will be removed by mods or admins. It's a slowplay attack, to try and steer the website culture in a bad direction, which alienates real users and drives them away permanently

          Like node said, the pms came from the account bobbobbybob3, no idea if that’s actually bob but they had the screenshot of your original pm convo with bob (that am posted above and was discussing I believe) saying why they were banned and were asking for me to share it. Since am posted the same screenshot around the sametime I got the pm, I assume it was PMd to a few people to say the least lol.
