For some reason IG Farbin/Monsanto/Bayer do not want us to have pets. Why?

maybe this story is fake

That is entirely possible but the anti-pet "movement" is out there and you hear about them now and then. That movement might be able to influence large companies or Kill-the-pets might be part of the overall and still partly-hidden agenda.

I do think, just like when us humans go to a doctor, if we take a pet to a vet we should take their opinion with a grain of salt. They don't need a ton of vaccines or a lot of the surgeries vets want to do for money. Now then I do know fleas and ticks are a major issue. Not fake news, they exist and I want to kill them. How to do that safely? If pets go outside they're guaranteed to pick them up. The flea collars and flea medicine can and do kill some pets. But it's a risk to take. 99/100 times it doesn't kill them. Also I think it's best not to order the flea collars online from Amazon, sometimes they are fake counterfeit ones on there that then kill pets.

Good idea or go to a vet only once and based on their judgement get that collar from them only for the first time. Then get the same collar online from NOT Amazon. Amazon has messed up my last two orders. /u/bobBobbybob (I think) recommended Book Depository for books last week and they ship free worldwide right now but I'm not sure if that's a one-time offer. Anything but Amazon. Then order the next collar from an online pet supply shop. The idea is to cut our Amazon. Thanks.

turns out amazon bought book depository....

don't get flea collars. Buy food grade diatomaceous earth, and dust your pets and their beds with it. One dusting will kill fleas for years

I was afraid of that. They bought GoodReads too. I will check Powell's today and see if they ship internationally. I had never heard of diatomaceous earth but have now. Thanks. You're the information man.

I got into diatomaceous earth with my kids, to stop nits. it totally did, too, no resurgence either. turns out my friends feed it to their animals too, to get rid of worms. Made my dogs & cats very happy too. no expensive flea collars and no bites anymore.

Sad to hear about goodreads. I guess the negative comments on patrick rothfuss and george martin will get purged soon

In one room of this apartment there are mites because I stupidly bought some old books that have them and they spread. Finally I just threw the books out. In Florida they are called no-see-ums for obvious reasons. If you open an infested book, you can feel them in your hair immediately. Do you think that magic dirt would work on them? And how would I go about it? Just put out some flower pots with the dirt in them? If these things get a foothold it's damn near impossible to get rid of them. NO HURRY.

yes, magic dirt would kill them. You'd take 100g of it and blow it all over the room, rub it in your hair, generally dust the place.
