why does parler need an app? as an experienced web developer/programmer, i know that you can do just as much using an html webpage..

i personally find parler to be difficult to use.. why when i load parler.com does it go thru that weird loadup initialization stage where it shows that animated "P" logo? load the page and do it quick, omg.

i find it difficult to use parler, period.

A different app for every website is annoying, especially when they're often worse.

i think that you can do just about any thing using html5.

also, it has always been my opinion as an experienced web developer that developers tend to go overboard with css and javascript and other kinds of bloat when they could just write their pages using a more basic forms of html that are valid on pretty much ALL browsers.. which would mean that their pages would load faster..

it does take time to download html, which means that javascript and other css and fluff takes time to download and it takes time to process and render it which makes your webpage load slower.

btw, now that i bring up javascript, there was a reference page that i used to enjoy looking up javascript stuff, https://irt.org/script/script.htm

http://irt.org

i used to write my webpages on linux in c language which would get executed as a cgi, tho this is almost never done any more...

i once wrote a custom webserver in C language that also produced the html of my website, you cant get any faster than that.. a tight custom web server that is also the executable that produces your webpage.

i am considering writing a new style social media app.

I don't know if you've seen the idea I had about that, since decentralization is a hot topic these days I was thinking a throwback to using a BBS/FIDONET like system but with mobile devices and an interface not from the 90s would be pretty awesome.

if you really think that you have a workable idea for a new social media portal, i would strongly suggest that you not discuss the details of it with anyone, period... the nature of man, especially men in the digital world, are thieves and liars, they will steal your idea and bring it to market before you can blink twice.

i actually have an idea that would bring swarms of good people from all of the major platforms, but i dont know if i have the energy or the time to put it together.

web development doesnt happen in two weeks.

i have been thinking a bit about your idea... about it being a "throwback", meaning that you would bring back some variation of the past... nah.. not likely gonna work.. things that are new and big are fresh and new and spontaneous..

just fyi, the idea that i have is precisely that, it is new... it is spontaneous.. but again, i dont think that i have the energy or the time to develop it..

i could do it if i had a half dozen competent developers to do my grunt work.. but i dont..

oh well..
