It would have been harder on us having to find our doctors, scientists and astronomers somewhere else but I think we could have coped with the problem.

No. Put a duct tape mask on her so she can't breath covid. Tape her hands behind her so she can't touch covid. Put her in a hole so deep the covid will never find her.
