I agree partially, the government should not lay claim to the fruits of our labor. Income tax is slavery, abolish it now.

On the other hand, food and shelter have to be provided by someone's labor. In a free market, we exchange our labor for the labor of others who build those houses and produce that food. If you expect those things for free, you are basically laying claim to someone else's labor which is another form of slavery.

Yes, there are menial jobs in a capitalist society (or any society), but you can change your career to something more fulfilling if you desire and are motivated to do so. Try switching careers in a planned economy and see how well that goes.

This line of thinking is stupid. By that logic, human beings aren't free if they have to feed and clothe themselves.

Now, if the government can willy nilly put an end to your ability to work, then people aren't free. It takes a special level of privilege and ignorance to complain that people have to work for a living when people are struggling to find work because the government keeps shutting everything down.

The problem with these complainers is that they have become totally dependent on government and corporate bosses and expect them to fulfill all their needs. They need to get off their arses and take control of their own lives. Getting a job not tied to the whims of the corrupt system would be a good start.

Agreed, but it takes some courage to step out of the box. Most people are raised to keep their lives within strict norms.

Oh Yes, you are absolutely right in that. They know no better, they are the weak ones in the herd that get picked off by the hyenas and lions. But the stronger ones in the herd, so to speak, don't look over their shoulders and worry for the fate of these weak ones. On the contrary, the weak getting taken is to the benefit of the strong, it keeps them out of the predators teeth.

I feel the exact same way. If the masses are going into a meat grinder that will satisfy those at the top who clearly want to bring down the consumption rate across the planet. No doubt to conserve oil and to deflate the debt bubble in the time honored manner of a Great Depression. Every weak minded person that gets kicked out into poverty means more opportunity for those who are not. More houses for them, more food for them, more of everything for them. There are really only two groups decrying this collapse. One, the people actually seeing their dreams swept away, their futures destroyed, and second, those of the privileged classes who find it fashionable to virtue signal with "Oh that's so sad, I feel so bad..."

People who think employment is some kind of slavery should all be deported to some third world country where they are free to do nothing and live out the remainder if their short miserable lives in squalor in accordance with their beliefs.

Your employer is not "threatening" you with poverty if you don't work for them. You are born into poverty. You are born with nothing. That is how God made you.

Food and shelter do not emerge from nothing. Someone has to make it. You have no right to demand that others provide it for you while you refuse to work. What an absolutely despicable mentality.

The funny thing is that men's mental health goes down drastically if they become unemployed even if they have enough money to support themselves.

I think it's kind of cringey that these types always try to find a way to avoid naming the jew. Especially when they refer to them as "elites" which makes them sound like braindead communist bootlickers.

[–]Airbus320 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

Yeah, what's so special about jews anyway? just call them out they won't take your authentic gold coins anyway 😩

I am pretty sure this is a shill post. A shill post written by a special needs fucker as well too.

Jews aren't that fantastic, just overrepresented.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I agree they are mentioned often, but it simply has to be kept in perspective. They are being set up to lead the world, at least in reference to the actual administration of what goes on behind the scenes. Doesn't this seem troubling?

[–]Druullus 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Isn't it the masses who consume most of the stuff being produced?

If everybody stops working, that'll be the result either way, whether the billionaires exist or not.

But what alternative is there? To let people build homes for themselves?
Their homes would be ugly and unsafe. Only animals can build good homes. People are too stupid.
Better stay homeless than live in unsafe ugly homes.

Food is a tricky problem. Always has been.

If you want to live like an animal you are free to do so. What op wants is to live with the same quality of life or better that working provides but without having to work. It makes no sense.

The problem is that everyone is getting brainwashed with the claim that rich people get everything handed to them without any work. They are told that if not for the rich people taking that away from them everyone could live like that. That absurdity is the root of this nonsense.

If I try to follow my instincts without paying tribute to the local warlord, I'd die. And this tribute has to be payed in special money that the state gives to its friends. Thus, to get this money, I have to work for one of these, usually crazy and decadent, friends, since no one else gets the money. And while it is possible, with some luck, to hide in some unoccupied lands, governments periodically search all unoccupied land, and destroy anyone who doesn't pay the tribute.

They are told that if not for the rich people taking that away from them everyone could live like that.

Does the state and its friends count as rich people? Because without paying them for every produced thing, and for the permission to build these things, and for the very ability to get a permission for producing certain things, we would have to work a lot less.

What warlord? Where do you live that has warlords? You sound totally delusional.

Without society you would be dead on arrival. You are completely ungrateful, arrogant, and self entitled.

Animals also have territories and the weak get killed off. You are the weak. Your weak parents failed to be successful. In nature they would be dead, and you along with them. There is not enough room for 7 billion people to live like hunter gatherers.

You should have nothing but gratitude that the rest of us made room for your worthless ass.

You created the Earth? Liar.

[–]ReeferMadness 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The earth was overpopulated before you were born. We MADE ROOM FOR YOU with the power of technology that was made possible by society.

[–]ReeferMadness 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Because without paying them ... we would have to work a lot less.

I'm all for reducing taxes, but that comes from reducing government spending. I'm all for stopping bailouts for the rich. But none of that supports your claims of oppression. None of that supports claims that employment is oppressive. That is just nutts.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

But none of that supports your claims of oppression.

You seriously expect me to defend the claims I've never made?

Ok, law says that all business transactions must use money. The money produced by the state and given to its friends.

To get money, everyone must work for the state and its friends, irrespective of what they themselves, or the market, want.

Of cause, instead of working for the state, one may work for its contractors. But the state, as the original source of money, can always drop its contractors, so they have to agree to all its demands. Because the contractors, too, need money to survive.

This way, we have a system when everyone is forced to do what the state and its friends want, not just give up a percentage of income.
