In that it's largely irrelevant to the fact that so many American workers aren't getting paid enough to afford their basic needs while the company executives make more than the whole rest of the workforce combined.

But aren't we already consuming to much resources, and will it not get worse if the half of Americans who make less than living wage, gets a raise?

The money doesn't spring from thin air, it's an expense the business has to pay in order to operate. The employees can feed their kids and maybe the CEO can't afford another yacht this year.
