Hitler was born a Catholic, and he died a Positive Christianity type of protestant. He didn't publicly express faith because he wanted the Reich to be secular, and for a state to be secular, the leader of state need not publicly promote any religion. Besides, he even declared that the party believed in some of the principles of Positive Christianity.
