Citation needed. And no, I do not need to provide a comma between 'lol' and 'of course'. In this context, 'lol' is used as a clause which could be extended to 'I am laughing out loud'. If you truly want to type the reply conforming to English grammar standards, you have to include a 'because' between 'lol' and 'of course'. In this context, a comma won't work. 'lol because of course' sounds like something a robot from another planet would say.
