I want to watch sports again, for the reasons I used to watch sports: to enjoy some fun entertainment for awhile, and get a brain-break from all the b.s. of the world. But not long ago people started interjecting their politics - of any kind, as I don't care - into all kinds of sports. And I stopped watching. Stopped supporting. Stopped buying.
Are there any sports that aren't doing the big political thing these days? Someone suggested NASCAR, but I'm a cord-cutter so I don't have access to cable to watch it. I'd like it to be something I can actually watch - but I'm not picky how (like I'd be good watching via yoobtube or some other video service, if that's where it was). And something I can track (I miss checking in to see where my favorite team is in the stats once in awhile).
Doesn't even have to be a team. Perhaps an individual athlete in a sport where individuals compete against each other? I could follow an individual as much as a team.
I know bore-onavirus has muted a lot of things, but perhaps some ideas of sports / athletes that haven't become overly political (someone's country flag waving around doesn't bother me) and I could spend this time learning about them?
Hhmm...
Any ideas?
