I'm Asexual. I don't consider myself LGBT and really don't want to be involved with that community due the politics and highly-sexual nature of it.

So why do the powers that be insist that I be lumped in with those people?

The LGBT organizations are playing the numbers game for political reasons. They have to inflate their numbers by pulling in ever more sexual subcultures to make themselves seem like a huge "minority" group of interest to politicians. I will post all parts of The Pink Dollar documentary series in s/Documentaries soon, so that people can learn how this works.
