dating sites are able to fuck around with the interactions you have just as much as facebook or youtube. they can easily give you a secret, internal attractiveness score and lower it if you have the "wrong" beliefs, then show you fewer good matches. they could even pair you with people meant to neutralize some of your beliefs. okcupid is perfectly capable of knowing if I am libertarian and then showing me only to people who are statists. they have also been shown to degrade the user experience by removing helpful features that are politically inconvenient like the different types of filters and search criteria. we really need an open source dating website server where anyone can start an instance or look at the matching criteria so that it is not a secret.

I'd be willing to wager they are doing this.

I doubt they are doing that because it would impact the success of the platform. Would be damn funny though.

I don't get how you can think this while at the same time agreeing with the argument that they might be showing insufficiently "woke" people fewer matches...which would also impact the success of the platform.

Those two things don't go together.

Disenfranchising people with wrong-think is something all mainstream platforms do. They allow them to flounder in silence, shadowban, etc. That way they can reinforce their message that X views are unpopular, it's a plausibly deniable action they wouldn't get bad press for. Even if someone like Veritas exposes it (and they often do), the mainstream news never talks about it - cause they agree with it.

Matching people with opposite minded folks would result in loud failure / which would dissuade people they want to serve from using the service due to expectations of being paired with someone that has opposite beliefs.
