All BLM is is a collective expression of: "Please stop killing us for no good reason. Please treat us like you treat white people." I really don't get what's so awful about that.

It's just simple human decency to not treat people like shit because of their skin color.

What? A police officer has an 18 times higher rate of being killed by a black then the other way around. Black people kill each other in record numbers. In 2019, almost 20 unarmed whites were killed by police, nine black.

The only people allowed to be treated badly over their skin color is white people.

that is a great message but what sucks about it is the looting and rioting, that turns a lot of people off of BLM. I know, not all of them do that. But that is like saying not all white people are racist or having a problem with saying all lives matter. Like saying not all BLMers loot. Because by itself, just the simple statement: "Black Lives Matter" is a true fact and no one should have a problem with supporting it. This whole thing is more complicated than that.

It is and only an asshole wouldn’t understand it. What I take offence to is the blatant commercialization of it, companies who didn’t give a shit about the black community at all until it started trending on twitter. Same can be said for lgbt issues. I work in marketing and I know all too well about the insincerity of brands and how their real goal is to appeal to be involved in social causes when the real goal is just to add more black ink on the bottom line.

Also, there is a time and place for everything. If I go to a dating site I’m not particularly interested in focusing on socio political issues. But at the same time it’s their website, like I said, and I’m free to patronize it or not and they’re free to focus on what they want. But I’m looking for dates on the dating sites I choose to spend the time to visit.
