I’ve lost pretty much all my friends because of my refusal to not quiet my support of Trump over Joltin’ Joe. It’s my fault for having leftists as friends in the first place but that mainly reflects the places I’ve lived and circles I’ve been in most of my life.

I’ve been able to cozy up to a few newer more conservative ones but any of my liberal friends have very much distanced themselves if not outright cut me out. Even family.

And in every case I would say it’s been their choice. I’m somewhat strident, yes, but for them I’m always open to hear their point. The problem is they don’t have one that isn’t talking points they can’t answer a single question about. Literally their heads just explode. I’m fairly certain it was never quite like this.

And I mainly form my disagreement with them as question. (I’m far more friendly IRL than online, as I think most of us are.

The one question that got the most distance was, “Why is the son of liberal scion Robert F. Kennedy in the Trump administration?” Mind you, most of them know that I have always had a portrait of JFK hung prominently in my home. It was the one thing I inherited from my Cuban Jewish grandmother who was the descendent of both slaves and slave traders.

I’ve still yet to get any sort of attempted response to that question.
