Depends how you count the deaths I guess. If you only care about people within your borders, then sure you might reduce numbers and save your selfish economy while the rest of the world burns. But if you consider yourself human, sharing the fate of humans across the globe, then all you accomplished was closing off resources that could have saved a larger total number of lives.

We don't share the fate of humans across the globe. That's globalism and it is a dirty word.

We have to make sure we're OK before we can help the world. Care for our own people first. Once all of their problems are solved, then maybe we can start worrying about hostile people who hate us in other countries. Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world.

Above all, I think--I hope-- we've learned that, whatever our flaws, our number one goal is to advance our own interests and keep our people safe, our economy solvent and our communities and families strong. Very few of the policies pursued by our virtue-signaling "global citizen" elite over the past 30 years have produced the above benefits.

What are we doing helping the world? We can't even help Berkeley, Portland and San Francisco. How are other countries going to accept help from people who obviously don't have their shit together? Enough globaloney. Here is a fascinating account from people who did as you said, put helping others before helping themselves, and did everything in their power to live up to your standards. A highly recommended read.

Muslims would never allow peaceful globalism. They would just start worldwide islamic globalism by killing all infidels and raping their women and children

If they do close the borders, I hope they close them to trade too (gradually) - this would kick start local economies. Though IMO, they should (gradually) open them up completely and close down (immediately) the centralized deep state interference with other regions. Wishful thinking.

Though obviously right leaning, a good article with clear points.

Except the toilet paper hysteria is utterly stupid beyond words. Fuck, I can make my own TP if I have to. It's not rocket science. Just because people panicked and bought out the shelves doesn't mean they're going to stop making paper products. OMG.

Also, the hygiene panic is absurd too. But that's a whole other ball of confusion.

Compelling people into rural life is counter to Agenda 21/2030 so that's a little confusing what they're up to and going to do about that.

The writer is a leftist, though a disillusioned one. The blog name is "I want a new left" and he lived and breathed leftism for decades (he's a professor). Eventually he saw through the bullshit and wanted no more of it.

Ah. I feel similarly. The old left is not dead, just drowned out by the engineered SJW left.

On the plus side, I've been introduced to much more right content then I ever would have thought possible 10 years ago. And I've even come around on A LOT of it. And I understand the right more too, for that which I don't buy into.

Yet, I'm still a proud freak, though now a more centrist freak. A walking paradox.

Yeah, looks like this is The New Normal v2, now that the 9/11 spectre doesn't deer-in-the-headlights people any more. https://www.corbettreport.com/medical-martial-law-2020/
