What is reddit's goal?

Why are people getting banned for stating facts?

I don't get it. Is reddit big enough to perhaps corrupt a generation of Americans and sway political opinion, or is this going too far?

I think it is because they have discovered that left wing rage bait is the most profitable for advertising. At least that's what insiders at Twitter and other social medias companies say.

Bait for left-wing folk. Reddit's goal is to have a customer base of left wingers who will respond to the rage bait in correct manner. Thus they ban and quarantine subs that don't fit.

Reddit is another silicon valley tech giant. They want their people in power (Democrats) who will then pour more money into them.

Does Reddit believe they can sway the election? Yes.

Can they? No.

Reddit is an echo chamber full of people in democrat strongholds. Not to mention that the site is heavily botted and astroturfed, look at the last few days where pro-trump stuff was getting to front page from subs like politicalhumor. CTR is out for christmas. The reddit mindset isn't as prevalent as they'd have you think. The UK elections was a great example of this, nothing but 'boris man threads' on default subs all day, then he goes and wins in a landslide and their whole world was shattered since it wasn't supposed to happen!

Reddit's goal is to make money from their upcoming 2020 IPO, so they can continue paying the $16M/yr in salaries they have to pay out, in addition to server costs and venture capital debt payoffs.

They're just trying to comply with what the IPO investors want (which is legally required by law for all publicly-traded companies, btw) and this is resulting in a lot of censorship. Knowing this would happen, we built saidit, so people can have their say outside of this corporate structure reddit is now trapped in.

False consensus. All leftist regimes are big on it.

It narrows the Overton Window to only acceptable opinions, and anything outside it must be evil heresy. People marinate in it and are genuinely jarred by dissenters. They then have an immune response and reject the crimethink. That's why they police reddit so aggressively. It gives people the false idea that only opinions allowed by reddit are valid.
