If I were clever enough to know how to turn a car into a productive asset without working for uber/lyft, I would get one...a beater car at that.

Gas, insurance, all fees hidden and explicit. Some cities handle public transport pretty well. Not mine.

So true, if I could afford to get my own car I would. Privacy, comfort, air conditioning/heating, nobody elses germs, no babies crying.. must be nice. I guess the only thing that can let you down is road works, even then there are usually different routes to take and it's your choice. Instead of sitting in a still train or bus for 20 minutes you're your own captain and can take a different route.

Really?

You can get a pilot's license for like $10,000 and never be stuck in traffic again.

A very reasonable suggestion.

Jesus Christ. This place is lower rent than Reddit. I never thought I’d see the day.
