I just opened this account on saidit because of the censorship wave on reddit. As far as I am concerned, reddit can't die fast enough.

I have been using voat for a couple years but it has been so buggy, slow and slow to grow it's just sad. I'm hoping saidit takes off.

Eh, it seemed like voat's "immune system" to leftist takeover was similar to the chans. At first...

But instead of tongue-in-cheek nastiness chasing away NPCs/Sheep/Lemmings, whatever you call them, it made actually nasty people think they'd found good company. Then the hivemind cycle kicked up all over again, but with different triggers.

It was a good place in 2016, but now it's just one more link aggregate in a mass grave of places that had good discussion.

Reddit is really nothing more than a shell of what it used to be. All of the controversial subs were removed in the interest of "cleaning" up, but it's also one of the most easily accessible cringeworthy porn sites on the Internet. Even the things like tech subs are full of garbage that isn't useful. Still some great art stuff there, but that's about it.

Voat...I still have an account on Voat. (edit: but I don't do much there anymore. Who can, with the way the place works, broken 2 out of 3 times you try to access it.) A user put forth the idea that the current situation there is basically the admin saying there's something wrong, without saying it. Regardless, it's just to broken and suspect at this point to take seriously. With only registered users allowed, the flavor of the site has become more and more toxic since new users don't seem to be arriving anymore.

It's not censorship. If you're sub is 90% of the website's content then it doesn't make sense to leave it on a/all. Also they don't even get their users from saidit so it doesn't matter.
