There are a number of "55 and over" communities springing up around my area, and all of them have eye-watering prices to live in. It seems to me that these were all built to handle the influx of retiring baby boomers, who probably will be the last generation that can handle the prices, or even retire in a traditional sense.
In 30 years, these things are going to be empty, run-down eyesores that will be torn down or sold to developers as Section-8 housing, if they even last that long.
