Personally, I think the coup was at least partially infiltrated by Chavez's forces because ever since the incident the reds took control of the military in the nation after they hunted the officers who participated in the rebellion. The media everywhere tend to exagerate the way the US participated in the coup, it would have happened with or without the help of the gringos. At first, not even Chavez himself called it a coup and the Supreme Tribunal of Justice said there was only a "power vacuum".
The rebellion was planned by the high military command with over a month of planification. Chavez was taken to Fuerte Tiuna where the generals were talking about whether they should kill him or put him in jail. One of the generals who didn't agree with killing him took him to the helicopter and went to The Orchila.
Some time later in Miraflores, the politicians were in a room and the generals who took care of Chavez were right next to them. A lot of the generals wanted a civic-military junta but one of them, Vasquez Velasco wanted Carmona to be president and convinced the politicians for that to happen without consulting the other generals.
Everything that happened in 2002's rebellion was completely legal (The giant opposition march, Chavez resigning) except for placing Carmona in power.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
