Yes it sucks but note that in this case justice prevailed. And it is already hard enough for abused/raped people to go to the cops without the threat of jail if the cops don't believe them. And in a lot of cases the cops don't believe them because they may be abusers themselves or more likely they are too lazy to do their jobs.

I agree that the accuser must be protected, in fact I don't completely disagree in what has happened thus far. My gripe is that in the end, after many months undoubtedly go by, there will be no tangible consequences for her false accusations. If we don't punish false accusations then it only encourages people to make false accusations.

In fact I'll bet she only went through the whole thing because she knew there is only upside for her - she can fuck with his life, get free rent, cost him $$$ - all for incredibly little risk on her part.

I don't think she deserves 99 years, lol. But it needs to go on her record, and at the least she needs to pay his legal fees.
