the media had originally lost trust due to lying about iraq WMDs, and of course that was to help Bush, a repub. So most thought the media was rw back then. Looking back there is no rw or lw just control by the elites. They brought in Trump to try to regain trust in the media, he was crazy and attacked the media so the people thought the media must be good. A lame strategy but it worked, but then they threw away that trust with getting too cocky with the pandemic takeover.

yeah maybe not a lie but a lie since then, they could have told people to make their homemade masks and some did. No need to stockpile simple pieces of cloth. Then they wanted to use not wearing a mask as a reward for getting vaccinated. You don't hear much about masks as much now, cuz everyone dumb enough to get vaccinated just not to wear a mask already did, now they are using more of a bludgeon approach, mandates, to make people get vaccinated, no need for rewards.
