The guy was from Nigeria and crossed the border from Germany, so IDK why they were sending him to Bulgaria.

It's a strange European law that when an illegal is found he is not sent back to his country but to the country of entry, which means the first European country he entered. In this case, he probably entered Europe through Bulgaria from Turkey, so he had to go back to Bulgaria.

However, no one is entering Europe with the intention of staying in Bulgaria or Greece. Everyone wants to end up in Germany, or maybe Sweden or a similar country where it's rumoured that the state will give them plenty of benefits for an easy living.

Ohhhh, okay. That's pretty dumb, and will just make the Balkans into African/Arab countries over time...
