My grandma made an amazing snapping turtle pie when I was a kid. Their pond was a few hundred feet in diameter, and was filled with snapping turtles.

We had a big red eared slider lay in our shrubbery. Never did see any babies but then I only cut the yard every 4 or 5 days and it doesn't take long.
