Right. Gay/straight, coke/pepsi are false dilemmas.
Certain people are more inclined to have their beliefs change, so some people can actually learn to love a certain thing (such as RC cola, or as you mentioned, Pepsi). It happens all the time when children become adults and learn to love things they hated as children (whether or not tastes actually change through one's years is highly debatable).
