I thought the guy came off bad, and I suspect you believe the opposite.
Although I don't like when woke assholes go around saying we're all racist, and her saying what she does encourages that behavior, but in a basic psychological sense we do all have implicit biases.
And I suspect the guy knew that too but was purposely being obtuse, nitpicking her words like an angry redditor.
