I've been to Russia, would recommend.
Don't expect amazing food though.
Also not much middle class so everything is either aimed at the super rich or dirt poor.

Which part did you go to? Before I was banned, I had around 6 Russian youtubers I'd sometimes watch, from Sergey (real russia) in Saint Pete, to Slava (russianplus) way over in Yekaterinburg. Most of them did the 'this is my city/region' thing, which was pretty cool. Russia is an amazing place, and vast.
Oh, and Bald and Bankrupt would go to the most obscure regions just to hear a new language, or see another Soviet bus stop.
Best to avoid in the winter, though.
