The big-picture debate that is going on today is what does it mean to be "American"? There are at least two very different pictures of what that word means. Each side is saying the other is violating the norm, and each norm seems to have about 70 million supporters behind it. Lots of monsters on all sides...

But both sides do not take equally 'American' positions.

One 'side' favours autorcatic rule and the continance of 99% production and profits ot the 1%

One 'side' favors democratic rule, whereby the 99% have more control over what they earn. This is obviously the side that favors America, the American dream, the American way, and Americans.
