You mean to tell me that groups that don't act as a collective to preserve and promote the interests of the group get outcompeted by those that do and eventually cease to exist? ASTONISHING.

Wow so scientific. It's got squares and colors and everything.

What can we do to be ethnocentric in a meaningful way?

Firstly work out what your ethnicity is.

The trouble is it's mostly about culture and most people here are outsiders so they are already on the outside of their cultures and communities. The best thing such people can do is strengthen their culture through critique because they are never going to lead from the centre or promote the majority lifestyle but that still means engaging with normal people not just opinionating.

So, import your ethnic culture? How does that strengthen anything?

The best thing such people can do is strengthen their culture through critique because they are never going to lead from the centre or promote the majority lifestyle but that still means engaging with normal people not just opinionating.

To what end do you import your culture, and then criticize it? To whom are you criticizing?

I can appreciate that one would do well to find others who are ethnically their own, and use that culture and traditions to build a community. Having friends who are of your own ethnicity would put you in a stronger position because those people are far less likely to betray you. But it is hard to make friends and limiting those friends to an ethnic group could just leave you with few friends. And there is not much if a reason to have only friends who are the same ethnicity as you.
