Why is population control for people who cant afford to feed their kids wrong?

I say no.

Sure it violates their supposed “freedom” but imo it’s child abuse.

It’s also child abuse to have a kid when you’re genetically disabled.

And even though I’m pretty certain I am gay, I don’t think gay couples should be able to adopt... marry, yes but adopt, no.

Everyone gives up certain freedoms for the right to live in a society. One of those freedoms is to abuse or kill your kids. If letting them die is not an option then I think society has the right to prevent that situation.
