He might have been unconsciously, who really knows, I don't and you don't either. What we do know is that he might have been illegally carrying a rifle but it appears he wasn't trying to intentionally murder someone. The shots were fored after a molotov cocktail was thrown at him.

As I said in another thread, from the footage I've seen it looks at least somewhat justifiable as self-defense, but when you consider that he came in from another state to "patrol" it really changes the picture.

Patrol, or to defend businesses? The shooter will use the latter for his defense and in a court of law, it is a pretty good defense. I think if he came from another state it is a moot point.
