Lolita" by Nabokov takes on a whole new light. As does that Salvador Dalí painting where he called Temple "Americas Little Beast" and put her head on the Sphinx. Dalí knew what was up. My great grandma called Shirley "a sugary little whore" and I always thought she had just been jealous. Guess not!

Oh yeah, the Barcelona Sphinx: https://www.wikiart.org/en/salvador-dali/shirley-temple
Bless your ggma, there's nothing better than to tap into the infinite wisdom of our elders, you are lucky to have had the chance to learn from 3 generations.

Btw, I crossposted your link to s/pizzagate to raise some more awareness.

bless her indeed. you know, the elderly are a very untapped resource I think. They correct false history alarmingly often, when you take the time to talk to them. I work as a death doula, and those conversations with clients have opened my eyes more than any. It helps to be a professional listener. lol.

God bless you for doing that job, and yes: our elders should be part of our families and society and thus passing on their wisdom to the next generations, and not struggling to survive in isolation or be put away in old-age homes.
