What a fantastic thing to witness. That must be a one-in-a-lifetime thing. It probably happens on a near daily basis, but to actually notice, and catch it on camera? That's awesome.

"meteor". the space wars must be hotting up.

See stuff like this far too often. Had a whole sky erupt last week when doing an outdoor festival. no reason, just so much light.

Our solar system is a meteor hot zone right now, relative to the milky way galaxy. We're right on the central plane of the galaxy, not above or below it like usual, which makes meteor strikes on Earth much more likely.

sure. And there are no top secret projects with robot planes in space that have been practicing lobbing asteroids at earth targets at all. totally natural. No arms race in space. nothing to see.
