Had to laugh the other day when I saw some mainstream journalists claiming that this sort of thing might have "unintended" consequences for free and open source software. Yeah fucking right, "unattended" my ass.

I'm past the point of believing governments have my best interests at heart; I think that particular facade finally melted away for good when mine was working with Hollywood to sneak malware into the digital TV spec that would have allowed OTA TV stations to arbitrarily stop you from recording them.

All the chips made by intel and AMD have built in backdoors. This is yet another tightening of their grasp, but does not significantly change much. But if they actually try to enforce it that might wake some people up to how bad things are.

The 'personal computer' era is coming to a close. It's going to be just like 1960 all over again.

Leased, locked-down terminals with no more programmability than a 'smartphone'. "Tampering" will be a federal felony. 'Your' data held hostage to monthly "subscription fees" on some CorproGov 'cloud'.

Better stock up on:

USB-sticks of your favorite linux iso.
"Obsolete" hardware without 'secure-boot', TPM and Intel Management Engine (((Israel Inside)))

Goodwill and pawn shops may have some laying around.
