The best option would be linux-based smartphones like the Pinephone.

ICYMI: VoIP lines can be activated/listened in on even when the receiver is on the hook.

I made it until 2018 with a dumb phone. It was because I was given a smart phone in pity that I made the switch.

Interestingly that seems to be when a lot of stress and unhappiness started in my life....

I'm 80/20 on going back to a dump flip phone... Only thing I would really miss is Spotify. I think I could keep an un simmed smart phone, download the music from Spotify that I like and just let it connect on wifi every now and then as Spotify needed.

This is what we do - and something similar for maps when we're going somewhere in the middle of nowhere with not a ton of street signs. We picked up a flip phone earlier this year and pay $10 a month for unlimited talk and text. Relearning texting with the numbers is a pain in the ass, but our screen use and ability for people to have instantaneous access to us is way down which puts our quality of life way up.

I have been around in the streets and I understand that "cautious" drug dealers won't even carry a cell phone, and those that do, they know which dumb phones are the most secure.. certain dumb phone don't have gos tracking, etc.

Just saying.
