The processors are expensive enough, but the price of the motherboards is just mad. I'm not surprised people are holding off in a time of economic uncertainty...

Exactly. That, plus for most people Zen 3 is plenty sufficient, no need for expensive motherboards taht support only DDR5, expensive DDR5 itself, PCI-Express Gen 5, all add to the cost of the system. The performance is there, but the VAST MAJORITY of users don't NEED anything more than what Zen 3 offers.
