Irreplaceable batteries is one problem. The EMP attack is another. Soon, our electronics will be useless, like in the movie Soylent Green. It will be a time for man to reflect on the true meaning of life. But many will be too distracted just trying to survive, so that they still will not repent and come to the truth.

I worked for a few telecommunications companies in the past. We never deliberately built a death date into anything. The turnkey manufacturers in China did that by cutting corners.
