Plugging in a plug is hassle, Let's see.

  1. Pull into a service station, 2. insert card. 3. put nozzle in fill hole. 4. start filling for about 4 minutes. 5. put gas nozzle back in pump. 6 put gas cap back on. 7. leave service station

Now the electric car: 1. pull into garage or charge parking space. 2. plug cable into car.

Yeah it is a hassle to charge a car. (sarcasm)

I suspect the hassle comes from 1) the time it takes to charge and 2) lack of charging stations which means you can't just take a road trip without some real planning.

A little tip, people are advised of the driving range before they pay a cent. Now what educated person would buy a electric car with a range of say 300 miles to take road trips, my jeep gets about 6-8 mpg and I would never use it to head over to las vegas.
