Tape storage, expensive (and slow) as f**k, but damn if it isn't useful for the sake of preservation.

And transporting large amounts of data. It's still faster in GB/s to physically mail magnetic tape than it is to send the same data through the internet. And that's always been true, it's kind of crazy. They used to call it "sneakernet" lol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sneakernet

I mean depending where you live transferring to people using USB and other stuff is still quicker and easier if the files are large enough.
