Though technically it doesn't break, just stretches.

Yeah, it's like it selectively stretches/warps around the object, rather than being torn by it.

Pretty cool - more or less the basic beginnings of the cool electric Batcape in the Dark Knight (the carbon fiber skeleton that activates with electricity).

Or like clothes made of tiny ropes where the weave is lose enough to pry your finger through, and with a little rubbing the hole closes again (only this is on Nano level and the stretching out is impressive.

Though I nature something usually gets torn, shredded or cut (by thorns) instead of 'nicely' penetrated.

You could have an outfit with sharp buttons, and you make new button holes each time.
It would be interesting to evaluate whether the material is experiencing elastic deformation, so it will continue to recover. As opposed to a partial plastic deformation, which will eventually fatigue the bonds and recover less and less.

Wow. A material that heals when rubbed? Sounds like a future condom candidate.

Cute, but it would be much better if they can make a fabric that would be "immune" to bullets and sharp objects. Now, THAT is a breakthrough in technology and fashion industry.

All the time you save (ie. repairs, finding replacements, etc) will be spent in the hospital suffering from the cancer it causes under the inescapable 5G radiation when combined with leaded and floridated water.
