I'm glad that open source alternatives on the Internet Of Things are out there, but do we really need all this automation? Will it really make our lives better, being able to say "turn off the kitchen lights" rather than flipping a switch? I'm not so sure.

Google, Belkin, Ikea, and Wired are all I know. I don't recall if OpenSource.com is compromised or not (sadly many "open" source things have been infiltrated and corrupted).
