I'd entertain donating to any developer who could cure us of Bill Gates and Tony Faucci.

This may require a specialized development team.

The cure must be safe and effective.

But this guy Geoffrey Knauth is nothing of that sort, a cursory lookup on the internet suggests that he has a profile on both Twitter and Linkedin, two popular non-free platforms which RMS actively despises and avoids! Furthermore, his Linkedin profile shows that much of his experience lies in things like C#, SQL Server, Azure, etc. which are all proprietary platforms having nothing to do with free software.

Oh NO =(´⊙ ᨓ ⊙`)= ! And I thought I would be a bad candidate because I still play proprietary games! This guy is horrible! I might actually remove the FSF as my AmazonSmile charity if they have failed this badly in choosing a Stallman replacement.

Like, Twitter is tolerable for me, but the majority of experience being in the proprietary software world? Absolutely unacceptable!

I am so glad Stallman is still head of GNU, because at least that means my userspace and licensing is safe.

His twitter activity on the other hand, suggests that he is more interested in national politics matters and social issues like BLM, racism, etc. which are all great causes but have little to do with free software or open source.

That type of politics does not belong in the FSF; only software politics does. Purism does it right, focusing on technology enabling protestors to keep their data private, rather than what the protests themselves are about.

I am also always weary of people who support "BLM", as that could mean anything from "we must stop this senseless police violence" to "only black people can experience racism, and no one else is important at all". I also feel is is an overly-divisive phrase.

To be clear, I think all lives matter in the very literal sense of that phrase, and this includes the black lives which are threatened by police violence far more than they should be, as well as the lives of everyone else threatened by police violence and/or discrimination. So, if someone says "Black Lives Matter", it is very likely that I agree with their intention, but do not know what their intention is due to their wording.

And on the other hand, I couldn't find a single tweet or mention by him about anything even remotely relating to a GNU software such as gcc, emacs or linux.

To be fair, the FSF is not GNU, at least not anymore. But no mention of Linux? That is ridiculous. I guess the FSF is about to be (or already is) dead as Reddit: a walking corpse of what was once great.

I wonder if setting my organisation to GNU would work well? Are they on AmazonSmile? Or maybe the EFF.
