Good rule, especially for someone who makes his living through data i.e. photographers, videographers et al. A large amount of my data is stored on a WD Elements - I'm talking all photos, videos, pirated games, some random data since 2014. And now I feel it's on its way to kick the bucket. Haven't lost all the data yet, but definitely should have taken another backup.
