I noticed Google translate regressed a lot sometime this past year. The translations seem good, they are grammatically correct, readable, and choose better word translations within the context. But errors include flipping the meaning (from yes-sentences to no-sentences), omitting entire sentences, or translating rare jargon into entirely different rare jargon.

I don't necessarily think this has political intent behind it, rather, they probably shifted to a different neural network architecture that produces better grammar but has less understanding of individual words.

It's Google. They don't get the benefit of the doubt.

Just FYI, I have founds this translator to be superior to google most of the time: https://www.deepl.com/translator
