Also, you can no longer replace, say, a network card. Luckily I don't use Apple stuff.

Yes you can. PCI cards aren’t affected. It’s core components, like the motherboard and inbuilt SSD storage that are affected.

3:11 in the video he says they tried replacing a WiFi card. They said they could not get it to work because of serialization.

That’s not a commodity part. It’s not expected to be replaced by random repair shops. It’s a core component. Anybody who buys Apple stuff, expecting to swap out hardware, is doing it wrong. Same if they expect to get it repaired at their local TV repair shop.

Any company that protects their devices from repair deserves a boycott. Especially if they cost multiple thousands of dollars.

People, buy something repairable.
