Do not buy Apple products if you care about privacy.

Here are some tips:

1) get an isp that offers a fiber contract explicitly stating they will not monitor your traffic and ALWAYS USE A VPN. If you are like most people in the US, you will first need to lobby your local govt to allow an entity other than fucking comcast to setup shop. If you live in the bay area, get SONIC.

2) buy a raspberry pi and setup a home server (i.e. bare bones unix)

3) only buy devices that you can access root commands on. You can use Microsoft but be aware that it is very difficult and involved to truly protect your privacy if you do. It simply is not possible with Apple

4) map all requests through your home network

Most people will never do all this and have no internet privacy. We are so screwed.

that's because it's more difficult. if we can make it easier, that will help. it should ideally be easier to do this than to set up a compromisable/compromised home system.
