If this passes, this could be one of the worst things to happen to the internet in a long time. Very bad for the United States and for free speech if this passes.

Agreed, we need to fight this tooth and nail. They've been trying to break encryption since the Clipper chip and earlier, always under the guise of stopping child predators, terrorists, and money launderers. Private and encrypted communications are necessary to a free and open society.

Meanwhile, they are the child predators, terrorists, and money launderers - and exploiters, drug suppliers, polluters, propagandists, war mongers, etc.
