I'd throw Hacker News in there for startup / programming / tech news. Also tech aggregator Slashdot is nowhere near as big as it used to be, but still has some good discussions.

Right now my top alt social networks are Saidit, notabug, and Minds. The author was correct to criticize Gab and Voat's community, but should have lumped Raddle in there too.

True, I will add Hacker News. The front page of Raddle seems reasonable, am I missing something?

I've seen some racist / hateful stuff on there before, but you're right that it doesn't seem nearly as bad at the moment.
