Your Space Weather post of a couple of days ago said it would take 36 hours (?) I think, for the most recent solar emissions to reach earth, so this power cut is right on time. Now we know Space Weather is nothing to joke about. He also predicts earthquakes with amazing accuracy, although that may be another of his websites. Amazing.

Nah, big storm shut down their sea based wind farm, the backup gas plant hit over capacity and the lines sagged, triggering the shutdown.

Switching to 'renewables' without sorting the backup supply is a 'let me cut off my legs while i'm running' civilizational action.

If it was the storm, it would have hit more and wider. This was just a badly designed grid with no spare capacity.
